A word from our colleagues at the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, with information on how and where to give effectively.
Thanks to so many of our colleagues and friends that have inquired about the horrible devastation from the tornadoes in the Oklahoma City area over the last two days. A number of our staff and many of our donors are actively involved in helping the shelter and recovery operations. The destruction is so significant that it will be several days before we know the full extent of the damage.
The Oklahoma City Tornado Recovery Fund has been in place since the May, 1999 storms. Please send any contributions toward the recovery to that fund in care of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1146, Oklahoma City, OK. You can also send online gifts through our website, www.occf.org.
We encourage contributions to the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army for the immediate shelter and emergency needs. We will used contributions to the Tornado Relief Fund for the greatest needs of those who are impacted by the storms as well as the schools charities that are damaged.
Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
