Community Impact Grants provide support to nonprofits working to address the needs of under-resourced individuals, families, and communities in our regional footprint.

Thanks to our generous community of individuals, companies and foundations, we provide grants to local nonprofits that are working to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children, individuals, and families living in poverty. The Burke Foundation and Johnson & Johnson (J&J) are among our partners in this work.
Grants are awarded through a competitive process. Our Committee on Impact, comprised of knowledgeable volunteers, reviews grant applications and recommends funding. You can read more about one of our recent grantee partners here. Read more about the 2024 Summer Initiative Grantees here.
Do you want to help make a meaningful difference in the community? Contributing to our Community Impact Grants Fund is an excellent way to make an impact.

Grants for eligible nonprofits:

In 2024, our grantmaking opportunities include: Summer Initiatives and Community Impact Grants. Grants are awarded to nonprofits working in our regional footprint.

Our Community Impact Grant opportunity is focused on those most impacted by poverty. This year, there will be two grant cycles to provide flexibility on when to apply. Eligible nonprofits in our region may apply for unrestricted funding either in Round A or Round B. If you have received funding through the Summer Initiatives grant, you still may apply for Round A or B of Community Impact Grants.

Funding considerations will prioritize requests that address under-resourced populations in our region such as children and adolescents, low-income seniors, returning citizens, immigrants, victims of domestic abuse, and others.

Funding priorities include the following:

  • Food Security
  • Homelessness
  • Education/Workforce Development
  • Mental Health
  • Community/Capacity Building

Our Summer Initiatives grant opportunity has supported gaps in funding for summer programming that specifically aims to reach youth who may not otherwise be served due to economic or social barriers. Proposals should engage children in positive summer activities, encourage child participation and promote family engagement.
