Thank you for sharing our vision of Thriving Philanthropy, Thriving Communities – and for supporting our important work.  Today is #GivingTuesday and we invite you to join us.

You and over 1,300 community partners across our region have helped us invest more than $60 million in vital nonprofits since our founding almost 30 years ago. You’ve told us you want to see an even deeper impact; we’ve listened and our current strategic plan has several far-reaching initiatives. Our work strengthens the area where you raised your family, built your business, or chose to live. Here’s a snapshot of what we accomplished together in 2018:

  • Ensuring all our children thrive: All Kids Thrive launched this year to help children reap the life-long benefits of a strong education. In Mercer County, over 7,000 students miss 10% of the school year due to factors such as poverty, homelessness and chronic illness.
  • Transforming our community: Our Community Impact Grants invest in critical projects that transform the lives of low-income individuals, families and communities. We fund a wide range of issue areas that improve quality of life, including homelessness, hunger, community development and the arts.
  • Building knowledge on issues that matter: We help you explore crucial community issues at our seminars for philanthropists. Next year, those programs will spotlight family giving, share best practices among donors, and include site visits to innovative projects in our region.
  • Sharing giving expertise: From our deep knowledge of the community and nonprofit best practices, we guide hundreds of local philanthropists who have opened Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) here. To learn more about the tax advantages of giving through DAFs, contact Elizabeth Wagner, Senior Vice President & Chief Philanthropy Officer.

Your support makes our work possible.  I hope you will partner with the Community Foundation and make an annual fund gift today on #Giving Tuesday.  If you have already given to our annual fund this year we are deeply appreciative of your support.
