Jeffrey M. Vega, President & CEO of the Princeton Area Community Foundation, is taking a temporary medical leave of absence from the organization, effective immediately, the Board of Trustees announced today. Laura Longman, CFO and COO, will serve as acting President & CEO.
“Jeff has an incredible team at the Community Foundation,” said Board Chair Sonia Delgado. “In his absence, we have absolute confidence in Laura, who has the skills and the institutional knowledge to lead them in this hard time.”
Longman will report to the Community Foundation’s Board, which is responsible for governance and fiduciary oversight. She has in-depth knowledge of the Community Foundation, and a long history of work in the nonprofit field. Other members of the staff’s Leadership Team are Marcia Shackelford, Chief Philanthropy Officer, and Nelida Valentin, Vice President of Grants and Programs. They and their teams remain committed to ensuring the work of the Community Foundation will move forward during this time.
“We are thinking of Jeff and his family,” Longman said. “We also want to assure our fundholders and our grantee partners that we will maintain our absolute commitment to philanthropy and to our communities.”
