As the Princeton Area Community Foundation prepares to announce its next round of Greater Mercer Grants, our flagship grant program, it’s important to highlight how active this foundation has been since the beginning of the year.
I’ve spent a significant amount of time listening and learning about how we can best serve our communities and gain a better understanding of what resources are needed to help our grantees succeed and grow. It has been a terrific process, as I have had the opportunity to work closely with our new Board Chair, Carol Herring, our Trustees, donors, grantees and staff in order to chart a future for the Community Foundation.
There has also been a tremendous amount of action. What draws our funders, our grantees, and what drew me to the Community Foundation is its ability to execute and make an impact. This is a healthy organization with a square focus on its mission. We are aware of the tremendous role we play in affecting change in the community.
As you’ll read in this month’s newsletter, we not only provide grants, but we are also on the ground working with our grantees to help ensure positive outcomes. We are a proud and active partner in strategic philanthropy.
This has always been the cornerstone of the Community Foundation, and, to me, it’s the only foundation on which to build a successful legacy of change.
