Grantmaking Celebration Luncheon

Join us for the annual Grantmaking Celebration Luncheon as we come together to celebrate the power of collective philanthropy and the extraordinary work of our nonprofit partners. This special gathering honors the organizations whose dedication, innovation, and service are creating meaningful change throughout our community, while recognizing the generosity and commitment of Fund for Women and Girls members who make this impact possible. Together, we will celebrate this year’s and last year’s grantee partners, share stories of transformation, and reflect on what we can achieve through partnership, purpose, and giving.

Speaker

Please help us welcome Superintendent of Trenton Public Schools, James Earle.

James Earle is the superintendent of the Trenton Public School District, a position he has held since 2021. He previously served as principal of Trenton Central High School from 2006 to 2009 and spent nine years as principal of Montclair High School. He also served as assistant superintendent for planning and pupil services in the West Windsor–Plainsboro Regional School District.

As superintendent, Earle oversees district operations and works closely with school leaders, staff, and community partners to support student learning and school improvement. His leadership has included the implementation of the district’s strategic plan, the expansion of early literacy and student support initiatives, and a districtwide focus on the whole child through trauma-informed practices, restorative approaches, and efforts to address chronic absenteeism. Earle is a staunch advocate for children and is committed to ensuring that students are prepared for success beyond their public-school experience.

Earle has initiated the Labor Management Collaborative with all local bargaining units, with a focus on strengthening communication and building healthy working relationships between staff and management. The collaborative is intended to support the work of all stakeholders across the district.

He is also a leader in technology innovation to support teaching and learning. Under his leadership, the district has implemented Apple Education initiatives to expand access to technology and enhance classroom instruction.

Earle brings experience serving as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, principal, vice principal, teacher, coach, and school counselor. His career across multiple roles has shaped his views on the urgency of educating students in today’s educational landscape. He credits much of his success with a tough upbringing and his days on the football field, where he learned the importance of being a good teammate, the value of preparation, the necessity of being fully present, and the role grit plays during difficult times.

Earle earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Clemson University, where he played and coached football, and is completing a doctoral program at Seton Hall University.
